Christy Armendariz, Founder
"Where I Came From" founder, Christy Armendariz, offers her journey from childhood adversity to advocacy through providing personalized insights via the "Where I Came From" blog, as well as the "Poverty Rehab" podcast, and public speaking sessions. Sharing insights from her lived experience and graduate-level work in the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), Christy works to empower organizations and individuals to break through the barriers of socioeconomic status and family history to create a greater quality of life for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Christy currently serves as a State Senator in the Nebraska Legislature and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (B.S. in Business Administration), with an M.B.A. from Nebraska Methodist College.
